Krystyn Guzniczak - Miss Railroad Days 2008

Krystyn Guzniczak is the daughter of Tina Hildebrandt and Joe Guzniczak. She is a senior at Durand Area High School and is 18 years old. Krystyn has been on the honor roll throughout her school years and has been selected as for the National Honor Roll twice. She is a member of the Future Farmers of America and has earned her Greenhand, Chapter, and State Degrees. In her years at DAHS, she has been involved in volleyball and tennis. She has earned two varsity letters and second place in the league. She was chosen as captain of the tennis team this year. She is treasurer of the Drama Club. For the community she has collected money for the United Way, helped in the building of Habitat for Humanity project, helped clean yards for the elderly, and collected donations for families in need around Christmas time. She is dual enrolled at Mott community College in Flint. In her spare time she enjoys being with her family and friends, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, and shopping. She has been accepted to Northern Michigan University where she will major in nursing to become a Nurse Anesthetist. Krystyn is sponsored by Changes of Durand.


Attendant Amanda Haddon

Amanda Haddon is the daughter of Connie Geer. She is a senior at Durand Area High School, and is 18 years old. She was awarded a certificate of participation from the Michigan Family, Career, Community Leaders of America fall leadership workshop. She is on the Honor roll at DAHS. She helps around the community and has volunteered many hours of service at Durand Union Station. She works with the children at St. Mary’s Head Start Program and at Bryant Elementary School in Owosso. Amanda plans to attend college majoring in Art Therapy with a minor in Psychology. She enjoys staying active, eating healthy, swimming, word searches, and community service. Amanda is sponsored by Andy’s Party Store.
